Look of the Month: May
Discover…May’s look of the month. A back to back post from me (no thanks to my busy schedule). But it wouldn’t make sense for me to write about May’s look of the month in June, would it? Anyhow, I love this month’s look. I rarely see brides opting to wear tiaras these days. But when done right, the look can be very European chic and very sensual. For that one time in your life that you can wear a tiara, why not wear one? The tiara featured below is made of lace-filigree sterling silver, lined with genuine pearls and is actually one of our headpiece convertibles worn as a tiara. To those unfamiliar with our headpiece convertibles, they are Spanish combs (aka peinetas) that have mechanisms that allow the piece to be converted into a tiara, a comb, a brooch, or a necklace. Thus, making the purchase so worth it because yes, you can wear your headpiece again! The mantilla of Chantilly lace, the sterling silver lace-filigree earrings and cuff bracelet lend the perfect finishing touch. Indulge!
As Seen In…InStyle Weddings
Discover…headbands. It’s an honor to be featured in InStyle Weddings Magazine. Definitely, one of our favorite magazines. I love how this magazine in particular pays special attention to the bride as a whole. Their focus is not simply on one aspect of the wedding such as the dress or wedding how-to’s, this book consistently will write about everything from how to dress to how to accessorize to how to plan your wedding. For the spring issue, InStyle Weddings featured headbands as alternatives to tiaras. I think that they do add a very sophisticated finish. We are honored to be among the nine featured headband designers for this article. I absolutely love it whenever my creations become part of such a prestigious magazine. Indulge!
Ultra-Chic Monique
Discover. . . Monique Lhuillier. One of our favorite retailers just happens to be one of my favorite gown designers. On a recent trip to visit family in Minnesota, I chanced upon an unplanned stop-over at Monique Lhuillier’s salon in Edina. The ladies at the salon were probably caught by surprise but were nonetheless very gracious to welcome me and show me around. The salon’s aesthetic is minimalist, soothing and quite pleasing to the senses. The ladies were eager, knowledgable and super nice (Minnesota-nice, that is). The gowns and dresses were absolutely stunning (this was actually the first time that I have seen them up close). The detailing on each of her creations is just impeccable. I personally consider it such an honor to have been selected as one of Monique Lhuillier’s accessory vendors. Brides can visit www.moniquelhuillier.com to learn more about this ultra-chic designer.
