Dress the Dress: Dina

Discover…dressing the dress for Dina.  Hello Australia!  Dina is looking for a pair of “killer chandelier earrings”  and a hair accessory to complement her gorgeous Jim Hjelm lace gown and lace Louboutin shoes.  I am in love with these shoes!  She plans to wear her hair down in soft waves so prefers a small clip.  Dina’s favorite stone and birth stone is pearl.  Also, she would like to create her accessories in 24k gold plate.  With this in mind, we created a custom earring incorporating more pearl and suggested a simple, classic hair clip.  The accessories as shown are sterling silver but we offer the following finishes:  antique, 24k gold plate, and vintage finish.  In addition, we plan to substitute the center crystal in the clip for a pearl.  We love custom design and can accommodate simple to complex ideas providing you with a sketch for your approval.  This is what Dina had to say about her experience “Thank you so much for this detailed reply–I wasn’t expecting such a customized touch!  Brilliant……I really appreciate the personalized proposal, a testament to your company’s service.” We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress. Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Muriel

Discover…dressing the dress for Muriel.  Muriel is interested in earrings and a hair accessory to complement her amazing ‘Uma’ gown by Melissa Sweet.  ‘Uma’ is a silk organza strapless ball gown with a fabric petal embellished skirt.  What I love most about her gown is the movement created by the gorgeous petals.  I would like to play up on this detail with a flower from the Christina Garcia Green Label collection.  This design features a combination of organic silks which gives the flower dimension.  It’s a soft and romantic style which suits her gown beautifully. We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Talia

Discover…dressing the dress for Talia. This is a repost of a previous entry that was accidentally deleted. Talia wrote us: “I just bought an Ines di Santo gown called ‘Nena.’ It’s simple, yet elegant and has a little silver and pearl beading. I would love to find earrings and a hair broach to go with my dress. Do you have any ideas? I love your jewelry!” A brooch is a wonderful alternative to a traditional headpiece. They can be worn on the hair on the day of and then worn as a traditional brooch thereafter. Most Christina Garcia brooches can also even be worn as pendants. The center embroidery of this beautiful gown reminds me of our Versailles brooch whose sharp peak mimics that of the gown. The Ashurst earrings also reflect a similar shape. The bracelet finishes the entire look perfectly. Talia will be having a Santa Barbara wedding at the Biltmore (see below). The ceremony is outside and then the party is in the ballroom. Her look is simple enough for an outside ceremony yet elegant enough for an indoor ballroom reception. We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Amy

Discover…dressing the dress for Amy.  Amy is a successful dentist based in California who will be wearing one of the most gorgeous wedding dresses I have ever seen. What better complement to this Amsale gown than the “Riviera” comb, one of our newest Spring 2010 creations. This medium-sized filigree comb offers the versatility of being worn in front, on the side, or in the back.  Its shape and soft vine design looks fabulous with the gown’s floral embellishment, providing the perfect balance to the drama of the dress without being overpowering.  The comb is custom made using sterling silver, freshwater pearls, and Swarovski crystals.  I would keep this look clean, simple and chic without accessorizing too much. The only other accessory I would add is a pair of earrings like the “Edina” earrings shown below. Amy submitted pictures of her bouquet, ceremony site and reception site, all included below. As you can see, she will have a very sophisticated wedding…just perfect for such a sophisticated bride. We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Chere

Discover…dressing the dress for Chere.  This hard working physican wants to treat herself to a special piece.  Her wedding will be held in the evening and the decor will be vintage 1930s.  The colors are pewter and aubergine with some black accents.  She is looking for an intricate cuff with a vintage feel.  To best compliment her gown and theme, I have chosen our ‘Auburn’ cuff bracelet.  I love the floral center with the black diamond Swarovski crystals.  This design is reminiscent of the art deco jewelry popular in the 1930s.  As you can see from the board below, Chere will be a beautiful bride.  I would love to see this statement piece finish her look.  We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Jennifer

Friday, February 20th, 2009 | Dress the Dress, Products and Collections | No Comments

Discover…dressing the dress for Jennifer.  Jennifer is a former model from Texas who will be getting married this spring in Houston.  She has chosen a dramatic mermaid silhouette with pretty beadwork on the front and back of the bodice.  A fabulous design for a confident bride as it accentuates the curves.  Jennifer has a $700 budget and is looking for a comb and a simple earring design to complement her gown.  I immediately thought of our Casablanca comb.  I love how it works with the beading on her gown.  It’s also a wonderful example of our filigree as art.  The Bassett earring is a nice choice to tie her look together and remain within budget.  We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Kendra

Friday, January 23rd, 2009 | Dress the Dress, Products and Collections | No Comments

Discover… dressing the dress for Kendra.  Kendra and her husband-to-be are both engineers and have known one another since the seventh grade.  In honor of their long friendship, the wedding will incorporate elements of their years together.  Kendra describes her wedding as a traditional black tie affair with a very Baroque, old world feel.  She has chosen a gorgeous Reem Acra gown and is looking for vintage style accessories. Her budget is $1,000.  I immediately thought of our Santorini headpiece convertible,  whose design was inspired by an 18th century family heirloom that I wore at my own wedding.  As you can see below, the detail in the comb perfectly complements the embroidery of the gown.  I can visualize the effect of the Santorini comb with the dramatic draping and beadwork at the back of her gown.  Kendra also expressed interest in earrings and a bracelet.  I would suggest a simple bracelet paired with substantial earrings but being careful not to go too large.  The earrings that I chose is perfect in size and is one of my favorites from our latest collection. These accessories not only stay true to the tone of Kendra’s wedding but also reflect the bride’s exquisite taste.   We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Discover… dressing the dress for Kasey.  Kasey will be getting married in Santa Rosa, Florida in an intimate, beach destination wedding.  She is looking for a special comb to wear in a half-up half-down hairstyle.  Kasey has a beautiful gown with lots of texture.  Our “Vernier” comb has a romantic design with texture to complement the bodice of Kasey’s gown.  The hand carved mother of pearl accents will be perfect for her beach wedding.  I would also like to suggest the “Stillwater” earrings to complete the look.  The simple linear design with dangling freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals will go nicely with her hairstyle.    The cost of these accessories is $456 (comb $300; earrings $156) which places Kasey well within her $500 accessory budget.  We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!

Dress the Dress: Shayla

Discover…dressing the dress for Shayla. Shayla is a medical doctor who is getting married in Las Vegas.  She describes her outdoor wedding as elegant chic.  Her gown as featured below has several lovely details.  I would choose the “Vezelay” comb whose detailing complements the embroidery of the bodice.  This comb works well as a side piece or placed at the back.  Shayla plans to wear her hair up so a nice pair of dangle earrings would be perfect.  I love the “Sandusky” earrings for her gown because its shape resembles the bustle of her train.  The cost of these accessories is $1080 (Headpiece Convertible comb $861, Earrings $219) which places Shayla well within her $1200 accessory budget.  We welcome all brides to submit pictures of their gowns along with their accessory budget to info@christinagarciabridal.com if they wish to participate in Dress the Dress.  Indulge!
