Look of the Month

Look of the Month: March

Discover…March’s Look of the Month. I absolutely love this veil for its intricate beading and embroidery.  From a distance it emulates lace and has an amazing heirloom design.  A statement piece in a chapel length, its shorter counterpart has also been increasing in popularity.  Our gorgeous model looks fabulous in a simple gown but I also love pairing an elaborate veil with an equally intricate gown.  As shown in light ivory it has been custom designed in pink and also silver for an inspiring twist on a classic.  Indulge!

Look of the Month: November

Discover…November’s Look of the Month. Donna from the Sassy Chic (www.sassychicbtq.com) has this fabulous way of creating “looks” for brides. This month, we chose to feature another one of her real brides, Lindsay. The “side-comb” that she is wearing is all the rage these days. I love it that when a bride is standing at the altar saying her vows, there is more to look at than just the dress. A lovely comb placed strategically on the right side of your head will bring attention to where attention should be - your beautiful face!  Lindsay is the perfect example - she definitely knows how to use her accessories to accentuate her gorgeous face. Also take note of her “dream catcher” reversible necklace and drop earrings both made of mother of pearl, sterling silver lace filigree and Swarovski Crystallized Elements. Indulge!

Thank you to Jeweliette of Vancouver for sending us this ultra-chic photograph from Real Weddings Vancouver magazine, another wedding publication I so love. Look of the Month: August

Discover…August’s look of the month. Another real bride graces Christina Garcia’s look of the month. Donna of the Sassy Chic Boutique in Red Bank, NJ sent us this picture of beautiful bride, Veronica.  The bold flower is a perfect accessory choice to accentuate her asymmetrical lace covered gown.  It makes a strong statement while keeping her look soft.  The flower is from our Green Label collection made from eco-friendly fabrics.  Indulge!

Look of the Month: June

Discover…June’s look of the month.  Petite combs have become the coveted ‘must have’ bridal accessory.  With so many options, it’s hard to go wrong!  It’s the perfect accent for a low chignon or as seen below placed above tumbling curls.  Indulge!

Look of the Month: May

Discover…May’s look of the month. A back to back post from me (no thanks to my busy schedule). But it wouldn’t make sense for me to write about May’s look of the month in June, would it? Anyhow, I love this month’s look. I rarely see brides opting to wear tiaras these days. But when done right, the look can be very European chic and very sensual. For that one time in your life that you can wear a tiara, why not wear one? The tiara featured below is made of lace-filigree sterling silver, lined with genuine pearls and is actually one of our headpiece convertibles worn as a tiara. To those unfamiliar with our headpiece convertibles, they are Spanish combs (aka peinetas) that have mechanisms that allow the piece to be converted into a tiara, a comb, a brooch, or a necklace. Thus, making the purchase so worth it because yes, you can wear your headpiece again! The mantilla of Chantilly lace, the sterling silver lace-filigree earrings and cuff bracelet lend the perfect finishing touch. Indulge!

Look of the Month: April

Discover…April’s look of the month.  This month we are lucky to have a real bride share how she wore her Christina Garcia.  Julie from Birmingham, MI chose a Salamanca hair art comb and our Sonoma earrings to complement her gorgeous lace and Swarovski crystal Henry Roth gown.  I love how this simple comb adds the perfect finishing touch to her beautiful cascading curls.  Julie looks amazing and wrote me a lovely thank you.  I am looking forward to sharing her comments in our real brides section.  Indulge!

Look of the Month: March

Discover…March’s look of the month. This month’s look is all about drama.  Experiment by using more than one piece to form a work of art in your hair.  The look can be created using a comb and multiple pins (as shown below), barettes and pins, brooches, or the hair art sets.  The pieces don’t have to exactly match, it can be more interesting to have only certain elements in common.  Incorporate an heirloom and update it with a few new pins.  The end result will be dramatic.  Some might even say over-the-top. But why not?  After all, you’re only a bride once.  Indulge!

Discover…January’s look of the month. Combs are so versatile. That’s why I love working with them. I could create several “Looks of the Month” with a single comb.
